Industries
Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corporation, MVEDC, is a partnership of public and private interests focused on the revitalization and economic diversification of the Mahoning Valley region in Northeastern Ohio. Their mission is help businesses grow, and to create and retain jobs.
CASTLO Community Improvement Corporation built an industrial park with 11 buildings to attract industry and employers to the area. Also, the park is served by the Genesee & Wyoming Railroad which has a direct connection to both the CSXT Transportation and the Norfolk & Southern railroad systems.

Astro Shapes
Astro Shapes is an aluminum factory and the city's largest employer with over 450 jobs for residents. They have a long-term partnership with the city and the MRCO. They also give back to the community, their latest project is Bob Cene Park, a baseball complex for kids.
Strengths: Struthers has an increasing job growth over the last few years and is predicted to keep increasing, additionally, it is half way between Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Making this city a great place to work in or commute. Struthers also has access to the railroad system for industrial companies to use in the MRCO area.
Weaknesses: Even though job growth is increasing the majority of the jobs are for lower paying wages. The community could benefit from more privately owned businesses or a wage increase if companies do not move into the industrial park.
